The Miss Cerrita
By Cerrita

Pouncival:
The Miss Cerrita is a Curious Cat:
If you offer her mice she would rather have fox.
If you put her in a box she would much prefer trunk,
If you put her in a trunk she would much prefer a box.
If you set her on a cot she would rather have a bunk,
If you set her on a bunk she would rather have a cot.
Yes the Miss Cerrita is a curious Cat-

And there isn’t any call for her to shout it:

Everybody:
For she will do
As she do do

Cerrita:
And there’s no doing anything about it!

Bombalurina:
The Miss Cerrita is a terrible bore:
For when you let her in, then she wants to go out;
She’s always on the wrong side of every door,
And as soon as she’s at home, then she’d like to run about.
She likes to lie in the middle of the floor,
And makes such a fuss when you want to put her out.
Yes the Miss Cerrita is a Curious Cat-
And is isn’t any use for you to doubt it:

Everybody:
For she will do
As she do do

Cerrita:
And there’s no doing anything about it!

Alonzo:
The Miss Cerrita is a curious queen:
Her very unique ways are a matter of habit.
If you offer quail then she always wants beans;
If there isn’t any beans she won’t eat rabbit.
If you offer her milk, then she’ll sniff and sneer,
‘Cause she only likes what she finds for herself.
So you’ll catch her in it right up to her knees
If you put away on the highest shelf.
The Miss Cerrita is artful and knowing,
The Miss Cerrita always cares for a cuddle;
And she’ll leap on your lap in the middle of your nap,
For there’s nothing she enjoys like a nice warm lap.
Yes The Miss Cerrita is a Curious Cat-
And there isn’t any need for her to spout it:

Everybody:
For she will do
As she do do

Cerrita:
And there’s no doing anything about it!
